& Cookbook Recommendation

Posted by DishragDiarist on January 9, 2012 in Book Reviews, Main Dishes/ Meals, Recipes, Resource Referrals with 4 Comments

I guess I’m on a roll with soups and stews. This is one my family loves. It’s super quick, cheap, makes a lot and freezes well. It comes from one of my absolute favorite cookbooks, Simple Food {for winter}. Our bodies crave seasonal eating and this cookbook makes it so easy (and kid-friendly). It’s available in hard or soft copy. Check it out!

Against the Grain:
A Great Offer for You!

Posted by DishragDiarist on April 21, 2011 in Book Reviews with No Comments

Do I have a great offer for you!

Kate Tietje of Modern Alternative Mama has put together another e-book, and this one is by far my favorite. Against the Grain is 55 pages of grain-free goodness.

Just because it’s grain-free, don’t think for one second that it’s boring! Kate includes all kinds of interesting flavors, spices and sauces in her 30 recipes. (Six of the recipes are for breads and desserts! The Vanilla Cake will Blow. Your. Mind. Wait until you see what’s in it!)

So, whether you’re grain-free temporarily, like for GAPS or to reach a weight-loss goal, or are trying to make the switch permanently, for reasons such as a food allergy, this book is a great asset for you. In fact, even if you’re not grain-free, you want this cookbook! Read the rest of this entry »
